Frequently Asked Questions
Why Do Homeowners Choose to Finance Their Roof?
Many homeowners assume financing means they can’t afford a roof. In reality, financing often allows homeowners to:
- Replace a leaking roof before additional damage occurs
- Preserve emergency savings
- Budget with predictable monthly payments
- Upgrade to better roofing materials
- Complete gutters, skylights, or other exterior improvements at the same time
For many families, financing simply provides flexibility.
How Long Does Approval Take?
Most financing applications can be completed online in just a few minutes.
Many homeowners receive a lending decision in approximately 5–7 minutes, although approval times vary by applicant.
Does financing affect my roofing estimate?
No. Your roofing estimate is the same whether you pay with cash or finance through our lending partner.
Can I pay my loan off early?
Most Regions Bank loan programs do not charge prepayment penalties, allowing you to pay off your balance sooner if you choose. Please refer to your loan agreement for complete terms.
Is a down payment required?
Down payment requirements vary depending on the financing program and lender approval.
Our team can explain your options before you apply.
Does Checking Your Financing Options Hurt Your Credit Score?
This is one of the most common questions we get asked, and the honest answer depends on how you check.
If you scan the QR code and prequalify online, that is a soft pull. A soft inquiry lets Regions Bank estimate what you might qualify for without touching your credit score. Check freely; a soft pull never affects your score and does not show up to other lenders.
If you call in and apply by phone with your project consultant, that is a hard pull. A hard inquiry usually costs a few points and stays on your credit report for about two years, though the effect on your score typically fades within a few months. Lenders run a hard pull because a real credit decision, not just an estimate, requires the full picture: payment history, current debt, and credit utilization.
In short: prequalify online first with no risk to your score, then move to a phone application and a hard pull, only when you are ready to move forward with financing.
The lender will explain further how the prequalification and application process work before you submit your information.
Can I finance siding, gutters, skylights, or other exterior work?
Yes. Many homeowners finance complete exterior improvement projects—not just roofing. Ask your estimator about combining projects into one financing package.
