To monitor and deliver the necessary materials and tools for the Foreman/Master Installer/Installer. To provide manpower as directed by your superiors. Be proactive and always have things ready before they are needed. For example: if someone is tearing out rotten plywood, start getting the necessary tools and materials ready to replace the plywood. Be the first to set the ladder up and start thinking about what needs to go up the ladder. Always be ready to take multiple orders and prioritize them. Stay alert and be an extra hand where needed. Be mindful of what is going on around you and communicate with others. You are like the oil in an engine. Your job is to keep the moving parts (the installers and foreman) running smoothly and efficiently by always being there to provide them with what they need when they need it.
To know the sequence of the job from start to finish. To have a thorough knowledge of the products and services we provide and a basic knowledge on how to install them. You are responsible for basic installation of materials and minor problem solving. You know how to start and finish basic assignments while being conscious of the quality of your work. For example: you might be given the task of roofing a straight forward section of a house. It will be your responsibility to make sure that the shingle courses are straight, the nail depth is set correctly, the nails are hitting the right spot, etc. You are the person who takes the routine sections and completes them while the Foreman and Master Installers focus on the difficult details of the job. The Laborer will assist you with materials and necessities for you to complete your assignments.
One who has achieved a thorough understanding of how roofing systems work and are put together. An expert in the roofing process and able to anticipate the next step. One who can look at a situation that has never been seen before and visualize a best possible solution. A right hand to the Foreman and is often looked to go above and beyond the items in this job description. Your focus is on the roof itself and knowing or being able to figure out each little detail that you come across. You are the person the Foreman looks to; to make sure all the tricky, complicated areas on the roof are done the right way. A very important skill that you possess is the ability to visualize things different ways and decide which will work the best. Your input will be very important for team problem solving!
