A Wintergreen Roof & Gutters Upgrade: Behind the Scenes With Anson Martin
When a home in Wintergreen needed a complex exterior upgrade, Valley Roofing & Exteriors stepped in to tackle the challenge. This project combined several services: roof work, gutter installation, structural adjustments and matching older materials. Our goal was to deliver a seamless result that both protected and enhanced the home.

A Project That Required Roofing Experience.
Wintergreen’s steep terrain and harder-to-access homes often call for greater expertise. As Anson shares in the video, this job involved multiple coordinated upgrades:
- Reframing sections of the roof overhang
- Repairing and restructuring parts of the deck
- Installing extra-large gutters to prevent backflow issues
- Sourcing materials that matched the home’s original siding and trim

We do a lot of exterior remodeling work: including siding, windows, doors, gutters, decks, sunrooms.
We’re the all-encompassing contractor that can do the complete project.
This project is very unique in that there were numerous exterior remodeling tasks that needed to come together to make the whole project complete.
We had to redo some of the deck, reframe some of the roof overhang.
Another thing we did was use extra-large gutters to keep from gutters back-flowing.
A lot of the products we had to match closely with what’s here.
So whether it’s a Hardie Plank® product or an LP® SmartSide®, we have the ability to find those materials and match exactly or very closely to what was used, let’s say 20 or 30 years ago.
Anybody that’s been up to Wintergreen Resort knows that everything is steep and hard to access.
So a challenging project, but nonetheless a job we’re really proud of how it turned out.
