Anson Martin – Founder and CEO
After working five years in the construction industry, Anson realized that what he most enjoyed was the roofing work. In 2004, he started Valley Roofing & Exteriors as a means to provide high-quality roofing services throughout the Shenandoah Valley. The company has grown to encompass siding, windows, doors, decking, and sunrooms. He enjoys the work and is committed to providing excellent customer service and top-quality projects for homeowners and contractors. He believes in supporting and leading his Team by offering them encouragement, growth, and opportunities to take their careers to the next level. He is married to his beautiful wife, Maggie, and has 4 wonderful and active children which keep him very busy. Anson and his family enjoy days on their farm to take a break from the day-to-day business activities. On the off chance he has free time, you might find him in a tree stand, shooting skeet, or traveling.
Joseph Showalter – General Manager
Joseph Showalter joined Valley Roofing & Exteriors in the summer of 2005. He found himself becoming more interested and involved in the company as time went on, and that “summer job” quickly became a long-term career. He has had many roles here: he went from nailing shingles to acting as crew foreman, then selling large projects, and now leading a team of salespeople. He demonstrates passion in helping our customers get the best exterior solutions and skill in setting up jobs in a way that our production team can flawlessly deliver. He resides in Grottes with his wife Emily and can be found playing music, fly fishing or gardening in his downtime.
Mike Paul – Production Director
Mike joined the Valley Roofing & Exteriors team in 2016. He has been in the roofing and construction industry for over 25 years. His specialties include residential and commercial construction in all phases with specialties in roofing and carpentry. His favorite past times are enjoying time with family and coaching youth baseball.
Bryndal Neff – Office Manager
Bryndal has been with Valley Roofing & Exteriors since June of 2018. Born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley, her attention to detail and willingness to learn have helped her grow within the company. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids, as well as serving as the FaithGroup Coordinator and Leader within her church.
Alan Martin – Sunrooms & Decks Project Consultant
Alan Martin does the estimating and designing for our sunrooms, screen porches and decks. He enjoys working with homeowners and helping them achieve their dream outdoor spaces! In his time off, Alan loves spending time outdoors and finding new experiences during his travels.
Lowell Showalter – Guttering & Siding Sales Manager
Lowell Showalter joined us in 2008 as a laborer, and then used that roofing experience in a new role as office manager in 2011. In 2021 he took a sales position and now spends his days working directly with customers to help them determine which solutions are right for their projects. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids and partaking in his favorite hobby, fishing.
Ben McDorman – Roofing Sales Manager
Ben joined the Valley Roofing & Exteriors team in 2016, after about two decades in the construction industry. He finds great joy in growing with our company and making sure that each project is up to our high standards. On his days off, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, hunting, hiking and being in the woods in general.
Jerry Martin – Project Consultant
Jerry Martin has been with Valley Roofing & Exteriors since 2006. He started as a laborer but is now an estimator in our repair department. He says that he loves working for a company that always puts the customers and employees first. In his spare time, Jerry enjoys spending time with his wife and kids and dabbling in various hobbies at home.
Steve McClay – Project Consultant
Steve McClay joined us in 2018 and his love for people and customer service is evident. He gets great satisfaction out of helping his clients select the best products for their needs, as well as leading them through the process from start to finish. Steven and his wife Julie live in Harrisonburg where they raise their teens, tweens and pets. They’ve recently become first-time grandparents too!
Philip Masincup – Inside Project Consultant
Philip joined the Valley Roofing & Exteriors team in November 2021 as the primary estimator for new construction, both residential and commercial. One of his favorite aspects of the role is meeting new people, getting to know their needs and building lasting relationships. When he’s not at work, you may find him cooking with his wife, playing with his two young children or working on their garden and landscaping.
Zachary Simmons – Project Consultant
Zachary joined the Valley Roofing & Exteriors team in 2023 as the primary project consultant for the gutter department. Although new to the construction world, he brings years of sales experience. In his free time he loves to play bass guitar or go for a nice bike ride. If he isn’t on his bike or at work, you may also find him at a Clover Hill Bucks baseball game announcing the games! Go Bucks!
Patrick Hand – Project Consultant
Patrick Hand joined Valley Roofing in October 2023 with years of sales experience, most within the roofing industry. His favorite aspects of the job are finding solutions, meeting new people, and the incredible rooftop views. When he’s not working, he spends time with his family, participates in church functions, or enjoys a ride on his motorcycle.
James Groff – Project Consultant
James Groff joined Valley Roofing & Exteriors in 2006 and has served many roles, including installer, in-home salesman, new construction estimator, project manager and now estimator in the repair department. He loves solving problems and using his long experience in the building industry to meet your home exterior needs. He lives with his wife and three children, and enjoys a round of golf when he has some downtime.
Mike Brubaker – Shingle Project Manager
Mike Brubaker is a Shingle Project Manager here at Valley Roofing & Exteriors. He came to us with almost 30 years in the construction industry and certification under the GAF Steep Slope Care Program. He’s experienced with shingle roofing, framing, siding, masonry, metal roofing and much more. All of that experience enables him to help his team solve challenging roofing problems. He enjoys the experience of guiding homeowners through the roofing process and seeing their faces when the project is done. When not at work you can find him casting flies over a quiet trout stream.
Kayla Quinlan – Customer Service Representative
Kayla joined the Valley Roofing & Exteriors team in 2023 as a Customer Service Representative. She is responsible for taking all incoming calls and scheduling appointments for our Project Consultants. She graduated from JMU, Go Dukes! She enjoys spending time trying new restaurants, coaching cheerleading at a local high school, and being involved with her church — Horizon Christian Fellowship. She loves the people she works with and is happy to be a part of the VR&E team!
Blake Showalter – Gutters Project Manager
Blake Showalter joined our gutter department in 2014. His favorite part about the job is the satisfaction of seeing the completed project and knowing that it’s bringing value to the property. He, his wife and their four children live on a small farm where they grow crops and beef cattle. When not acting as deacon or playing music with the worship team at his church, Blake can be found hunting, farming or spending time with his friends.
Shawn Humes – Project Engineer
Shawn was born here in the Valley and has worked in carpentry since 1996. Whether he’s remodeling, creating an addition or constructing something new in a home, school or business, he recognizes that place for being an important part of someone’s life and not simply a job site. Shawn had the unique opportunity to serve in South America off and on from the year 2000 to 2012 in the areas of construction and music. Shawn has recently enjoyed being settled down here in the Valley with his wife, son and daughter after having built a home of their own.
Jesse Liguori – Siding Project Manager
Jesse joined Valley Roofing & Exteriors in 2016. As one of twelve kids he has a strong work ethic and competitive drive. He has a strong “funny bone” and loves to joke around. VR&E has not only given him the opportunity to be himself, but also a passion and appreciation for the value of quality work. His most important goal is to be a good example for his coworkers and a positive role model and provider for his sons.
Bruce Willis – Shingle Project Manager
Bruce joined the Valley Roofing & Exteriors team in 2021 and is committed to promoting the customer’s best interests in all aspects of our roofing projects. He has lived in Rockingham County for over 30 years and enjoys spending time with his wife Candace and two daughters Jacqueline and Violet.
Jennifer Miller – Customer Service Representative
Jennifer joined the Valley Roofing & Exteriors team in June 2022. She was born and raised in Anchorage, AK, and moved to the Phoenix area for more sunshine. That is where she met her husband. Looking to get away from the city life they chose Bridgewater, Virginia to relocate. They enjoy traveling and exploring new places. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys visiting and playing games with family and friends.
Heather Shipe – Production Administrative Assistant
Heather joined the Valley Roofing & Exteriors team as the Production Administrative Assistant in February of 2022. She is responsible for getting materials ordered for the job and helping to make sure everything runs smoothly with our crews and projects. She was born and raised here in the Valley. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog. When it’s nice out she likes to kayak and be outdoors.
Natalie Breen – Bookkeeper
Natalie joined the Valley Roofing & Exteriors team in March of 2022 as the bookkeeper. She brings many years of office experience into the role. She loves spending time with her husband and four grown children and stays busy with ministry at church. Her favorite day is at the beach with a book!
Leslie Combs – Sales Administrative Assistant
Leslie joined Valley Roofing & Exteriors in September of 2023, coming out of corporate management. She is responsible for sending all of our jobs to production and ensuring project consultants have all they need. She grew up here in the Valley, but moved around a lot before coming back “home”. She loves spending time with the important people in her life, and being an aunt to her nieces and nephews. She also enjoys speaking Spanish, playing music, making sourdough bread, crocheting, and all things glittery and purple!
